In 1908 his great-nephew, George Vivers, began construction of what would become one of the most significant family homes in the country. He created a 28 room, 3 level castle complete with tower and battlements. It is built in the Scottish Baronial style and is known as Kings Plains Castle.

We run a small sheep farming enterprise on the northern more open half of the property, and the southern part running down to the river is natural bushland. Sapphire Cottage is a recently renovated three bedroom house in the town of Glen Innes, available for holiday letting, wedding guests, long term bookings or workers.

The house has three bedrooms - one with ensuite, a lovely sunny north facing lounge room, dining room, new modern kitchen, laundry and a second bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet, and barbecue area. The house can sleep up to seven people.

The property is pet friendly with large fenced yard- outside only please with your pets. Linen is not provided although it can be hired from Fossicker Caravan Park for AUD10 per bed. Linen packs include sheets, towels and pillowcases.
