When spending time in Glen Innes Highlands, it's sometimes easy to forget you are in the 21st century.
With over 60 heritage buildings in our town centre, and more in our picturesque villages of Emmaville, Deepwater and Glencoe, there is a lot to explore! The Glen Innes Showground displays beautifully preserved examples of 19th-century pavilions and grandstands.
Many locals are keeping traditional arts & crafts alive and some of our traditional crafters give you the opportunity to watch them working or attend workshops to learn the skills yourself.
We’re home to several vintage booksellers, with close to a quarter of a million books in stock.
And if you have a spare morning or afternoon, visiting our local museums to discover our rich and quirky local history is a must-do!
