In the heart of New England High Country, we are the destination for adventure, rich history, Celtic heritage and gourmet food experiences.
Whether you're an adventure seeker, lover of all things hand-crafted, a history buff, interested in Celtic Heritage, or you just like to relax and experience the beautiful Highlands. There’s something on offer for everyone...
Glen Innes Highlands is ideal for tree-changers, people who can telecommute, semi-retirees and active retirees; boutique/specialist agricultural producers, artisans and manufacturers; and the ‘creative’ professions such as architects and designers.
According to a recent survey, our tree changers over the last ten years have been across all age groups with just under half under the age of 44, almost 60% married with children and almost 54% with a Graduate or Bachelor degree.
Why did they move here? Family, climate, work, community, business, country living, health, business opportunity and affordability were some of the main reasons according to our survey.
We have something for everyone with events like our famous Australian Celtic Festival, Minerama Fossicking Gem & Jewellery Show, The Deepwater Jockey Club Cup and the Royal North Glen Innes Show. Find out more about events happening in our region.
I warmly welcome you to the Glen Innes Highlands website which provides significant information on our beautiful Glen Innes area; an area full of rich history, culture, art and community.
Having lived here for many years, there is never a dull moment whether you're wanting to visit, find your forever home in one of our historic towns, looking to start a business or invest in our region, I am sure that you will love it as much as I do.
Our community is very proud to be able to share with you all the reasons to visit, live or invest in Glen Innes Highlands. The high achievements of our schools; recent investments in the renewable energy sector; new sporting developments and infrastructure projects and opportunities for new businesses to leverage the benefits of our physical location, are to name but some of the reasons.
I look forward to seeing you in Glen Innes Highlands.
