In the heart of New England High Country, we are the destination for adventure, rich history, Celtic heritage and gourmet food experiences.
Whether you're an adventure seeker, arts & crafts lover, a history buff, interested in Celtic heritage, or like to relax and experience the beautiful highlands, there’s something for everyone.
Glen Innes Highlands is ideal for tree-changers, people who can telecommute, semi-retirees and active retirees; boutique/specialist agricultural producers, artisans and manufacturers; and ‘creative’ professions, such as artists, designers and architects.
According to a recent survey, our tree changers over the last ten years have been across all age groups with just under half under the age of 44, almost 60% married with children and almost 54% with a Graduate or Bachelor degree.
Why did they move here? Family, climate, work, community, business, country living, health, business opportunity and affordability were some of the main reasons according to our survey.
We have something for everyone with events like our famous Australian Celtic Festival, Minerama Fossicking Gem & Jewellery Show, The Deepwater Jockey Club Cup and the Royal North Glen Innes Show. Find out more about events happening in our region.
Acknowledgement of Country
