At the March Ordinary Council meeting Council adopted the final Economic Development Strategy 2020-2040 & Action Plan 2020-2025 (EDS&AP).
The EDS&AP provides a clear pathway for Council and Community foster local socio-economic prosperity and growth through the four key pillars of:
These four pillars provide a whole-of-place mechanism to deliver a place-based approach to local economic development.
GROW Glen Innes THINK TANK is a Partnership initiative from the recently launched EDS&AP to facilitate connection and collaboration in our community.
Registered participants are a collection of local's who are interested in collaborating with me in my role as Manager Economic Development as well as other GISC staff members.
Your involvement will provide more Council and Community collaboration through your experience, education and ideas across key elements of the Economic Development Action Plan.
Whilst the strategy and the action items are completed, it's the HOW we deliver these that you can participate in. That's where the THINK TANK comes in!

A Destination Analysis Audit was completed by Jenny Rand & Associates and the Glen Innes Severn Council’s Tourism and Events Officer in September 2020.
The draft DMP 2021 – 2026 provides eight (8) strategic directions with relevant strategies and actions to achieve the goal of that strategic direction.
The strategic directions and goals of each direction are:
