Explore Our National Celtic Monument

Head up to the Australian Standing Stones, our national monument to Celtic people, past and present, and find the solar noon shadow marker. See how long winter shadows compare to shorter summer ones when the shadow crosses the mark at midday.

Spot an Endangered Species

If you're lucky, you may encounter one of Australia’s endangered species, the Spotted-tail Quoll, in our World Heritage-listed National Parks, where it thrives in hollow-bearing trees and fallen logs. Mainly nocturnal, you will find the males out and about hunting for a mate in June. They are the size of a domestic cat, and have rich rust to dark brown fur, a pale belly and white irregular spots on their back and tail – hence their unique status.
