Kate a Veterinarian, visited Glen Innes often while studying and undertaking practical work. She shared with her husband-to-be, Ian, a love of the national parks
“We spent days walking in the parks while dating,” she recalls. “We love the [Australian] Celtic Festival, the Machinery Show which comes to town and the Glen Innes Show in February,”
Kate says. The temperate climate, too, appeals after her former home on a farm in the often sweltering Gold Coast hinterland.
Kate praises the welcoming, relaxed lifestyle “a very nice town with friendly people; you can always walk down the street and have a chat.”

Jai and husband Michael, both 34, moved to Glen Innes from Newcastle for “the pace ...we had enough of the rat race,” and to offer their children, 6 and 3, the rural experience.
“We love the amazing attractions on our doorstep” says Jai, “National parks, Boundary Falls, Mann River; we do a lot of bushwalking.
And the local amenities are fantastic especially the refurbished heated swimming pool.”
There’s a huge range of local clubs, interest groups and associations help deliver on a sense of community.

After nearly 30 years of living and flying in different countries around the world with the armed services Sqn Ldr Mac and his wife Jocelyn set their sights on Glen Innes and have made their final happy-landing.
"We were looking to settle. Glen Innes, won in the end by a large margin."
My wife remarked, “Glen is a short drive to Tamworth, even closer to Armidale, on 2 main highways, and just over half-way between Sydney and Brisbane; we could easily go anywhere!’’
I noted, “It has good beer and butchers, a selection of supermarkets and shops, services and schools; we could easily go nowhere!’’
