Nothing quite like the warmth of a clear sky through the car window when you explore the many country drives on offer in Glen Innes' local area. Take the Emmaville Road from Glen Innes to Emmaville through the stark poplars and prime New England farmland. You will cross over bridges, creeks and rivers that offer great fishing and fossicking experiences. Once you arrive in Emmaville, head to the lovingly restored Emmaville Court House. Built in 1920 to replace the previous building which was destroyed by fire in 1913. It was once the hub of our mining town and now a place to explore, learn, reminisce and enjoy. Phone 0498856648 for access to the building. Next stop is the Emmaville Mining Museum, a wonderful place for the family to go back in time at the Old Foleys store. They have a vast collection of gemstones, fossils, military memorabilia and of course, you get to learn the story of the infamous ‘Emmaville Black Panther’.
