Throughout the year, various Flag Raising ceremonies are held at the Australian Standing Stones.
The ceremonies are generally held in conjunction with the National Day of a particular Celtic nation. At all flag ceremonies, information is given about the patron saint and country along with the anthem. A toast is made and traditional thematic food is usually available for tasting.
Flag ceremonies are held at the Australian Standing Stones site. Ceremonies in March and November begin at 5pm with ceremonies in May and July beginning at 4pm.
Celtic culture is celebrated all year round in Glen Innes Highlands and some months there are multiple events.
Keep in touch by following the Australian Standing Stones Management Board's (ASSMB) Facebook page.
The Australian Standing Stones Management Board and the Glen Innes Severn Council work together to continue the cultural improvement of Glen Innes Highlands.
In April 2017, multiple flagpoles were erected at the Standing Stones as a permanent monument.
The 6 Celtic flags along with the flags of Australia, New South Wales, the Aboriginal flag, the Celtic Council of Australia and the Australian Standing Stones Management Board fly as a permanent fixture at the National Monument to Celtic Australian heritage.
