Glen Innes Severn Council Local Economic Development Support Fund

Applications are now open for the 2022/2023 financial year. This fund provides business and community access to financial support. The Policy ensures that the criteria for funding supports local economic outcomes in alignment with the Economic Development Strategy 2020-2040 and Action Plan 2020-2025 (GIHEDS&AP).

This fund may be used to provide financial assistance to:
(a) A business entity – proven by an Australian Business Number (ABN) and/or Australian Company Name (ACN) proposing to establish or expand an industry, service, or business in the LGA; and
(b) Local Volunteer Community Groups and/or Committees, Not-for-Profits, 355 Committees, Local Consortiums and Local Event Organisers proposing to incubate, activate or grow local initiatives, programs, or events.

This program provides personalised advice to small businesses to reduce their energy usage and get better energy deals.

Through this service you will:

understand your energy-saving opportunities;

choose the best energy plan for your business; and

receive tailored advice on energy efficiency opportunities best suited to your industry.

The program also offers a Small Business Energy Check, a free online energy spend benchmarking tool. It allows businesses to compare energy spend to other similar businesses in the same industry and region. You can learn if your business is paying too much for energy.

NSW Government Primary Producer Disaster Recovery Grant

Glen Innes Severn is listed in the current NSW Government Disaster Declaration LGA’s for Storms and Floods from 22 February 2022.
Flood-affected primary producers are encouraged to apply for Special Disaster Grants to access financial assistance to get back to operating as soon as possible.
Once approved, eligible primary producers can access $15,000 in assistance up-front, with a further $60,000 in financial assistance available thereafter upon submission of valid tax invoices.

Trial a young person to find out if they're the right fit for your business and get $1,000 to help cover the costs of the trial. During the trial, you don't pay the young person. Instead, the Australian Government gives them $200 a fortnight on top of their income support and covers their insurance. Businesses can also receive up to $10,000 (GST inclusive) through a Youth Bonus wage subsidy if they hire an eligible young person between 15 and 24 years of age.

Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program - Glen Innes Severn Council

Glen Innes Severn Council will be submitting a grant application to the NSW Government for event funding on behalf of our community. Council has been allocated the opportunity to apply for funding to the total of $301,708.

Council invites community organisations within our Local Government Area (LGA) to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for an event they are delivering in the eligible period.

A grading system for each criteria section will be implemented by Council in the panel selection process of successful EOIs.

Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program 2022 Streams

There are two categories of grants available under this program:

Community grants (up to $10,000)

These small grants are for projects and activities that are focused on the local community, commemorate the service and sacrifice of local community members, and are primarily accessed by the local community.

These projects may include the construction of new war or peace memorials, where none currently exist, as well as additions to existing memorials.

Active Kids Vouchers

Winter sport is coming. The Active Kids program aims to increase participation of school-enrolled children in sport and physical activity by providing parents with vouchers to help cover the cost of registration and membership fees.
