There are a growing number of initiatives, collaborations and projects that we are working on for our local economy. Some of these are Glen Innes Council annual operational plan actions and some are due to accessing grant funding to deliver additional projects aligned to the Council 4-year Delivery Program objectives of:
Facilitate market & business opportunities
Develop a strong brand for Glen Innes Severn Highlands
Facilitate growth & support business development
Recognise & support the agricultural sector as the most significant local industry within the LGA
To help us model business impacts of COVID-19, Regional Development Australia Northern Inland (RDANI) are seeking businesses to complete a business impact survey. It is vital that we get as much information as possible to help shape our regional approach and the Government’s assistance measures going forward. This local information will be used to model local insights into REMPLAN statistical modelling program.
Complete the survey by Friday 24 April, 2020

Did you know that we lose $200,000,000 out of our local economy every year? If 20% of that was retained locally an additional $56 million would be circulating in our local economy each year.
Highlands Hub is FREE for local business to help you:

On every economic metric the Glen Innes Severn LGA Agriculture, Forestry & Fishing Industry over-indexes against the Regional Development Australia Northern Inland (RDANI), which presents a major risk to the sustainability of our local economy especially in times of drought.
It is essential that a project is undertaken to promote, inform, guide and nurture landholders and primary producers to diversify their on-farm products and add further value to their on-farm assets.
We will deliver a business development program of events to accelerate the diversication of our region from primary production to broader agri-food and agri-tourism value-added economy.
This project is being delivered in partnership with Regionality and is supported by GLENRAC.
COMING SOON
Glen Innes Highlands have been successful in securing a place to become a Neighbourlytics Launch City.
Launch Cities is a purpose built program giving innovative local governments the opportunity to establish a wellbeing analytics baseline for their municipality, and empower decision-making through developments in data.
With human-centred analytics, we can use wellbeing as a framework to guide investment in technology and infrastructure for our places.
Through quantitative measurement of Social, Economic, Physical, and Community Prosperity, we create a baseline and establish benchmarks to guide budgetary planning and resource allocation, as well as monitor and evaluate program impact over time.
Acknowledgement of Country
