Thanks to all of those in the community that took the time to feed back on the draft PLACE Strategy & Action Plan (EDS&AP). The final EDS&AP was adopted by Council at the March 2021 Ordinary Council meeting.

GROW Glen Innes Think Tank is a Partnership initiative from adopted EDS&AP to facilitate connection and collaboration in our community.

At the March Ordinary Council meeting Council adopted the final Economic Development Strategy 2020-2040 & Action Plan 2020-2025 (EDS&AP).

The EDS&AP provides a clear pathway for Council and Community foster local socio-economic prosperity and growth through the four key pillars of:

 These four pillars provide a whole-of-place mechanism to deliver a place-based approach to local economic development.

GROW Glen Innes THINK TANK!

GROW Glen Innes THINK TANK is a Partnership initiative from the recently launched EDS&AP to facilitate connection and collaboration in our community.

Registered participants are a collection of local's who are interested in collaborating with me in my role as Manager Economic Development as well as other GISC staff members.

Your involvement will provide more Council and Community collaboration through your experience, education and ideas across key elements of the Economic Development Action Plan.

Whilst the strategy and the action items are completed, it's the HOW we deliver these that you can participate in. That's where the THINK TANK comes in!

Advertising Opportunity for Local Businesses
We're working on a brand new Visitor Guide which will have opportunities to promote your business to visitors.

It won't be your boring old directly and list, it will have local stories and celebrate what's unique about our town - more of a coffee-book style!

The guide won't just be in Glen Innes, in fact it will stretch far and wide to multiple Visitor Information Centers. We're also adding digital advertising space to our website Glen Innes Highlands which will be available soon.

We're currently in development of a new Highlands Hub powered by Localised for our Community.

The new Community Hub will integrate with the existing Business Hub and include the following features:

  • Community Articles/News
  • Local Jobs/Careers Portal
  • Profile builder for Jobseekers, Employers & Job Service Providers
  • Searchable Industry Content Page
  • Career Pathways Content Publishing

Why are we launching this platform? There are a number of reasons including; addressing the local jobs and skills gaps; no current consolidated view of local jobs online; a central place for community to connect and communicate.
